I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. – Ephesians 1:19-20
This week we walked the road leading up to Easter. From reverence and remembrance on Good Friday to incredible rejoicing on Easter Sunday. And now we live in the after Easter weeks.
Life continues. We are still navigating life’s new normal during the global COVID-19 health crisis. Everyday life challenges will continue to occur: a friend is still hospitalized with cancer, a family member worries about a rebellious child, a husband walks out the door leaving his wife and children … the list could go on. With all of life’s obstacles, how do we live with the hope of Easter after Easter?
We look to Jesus. After Jesus miraculously rose from the dead, He walked and talked with His friends for over a month. With a few exceptions, we aren’t really sure of most of His words and actions during that time. What we are sure of, however, is that Jesus communicated two profound commands which overflowed with both hope and challenge: Wait and Go.
Jesus’ disciples and friends needed to first wait for the promised power of the Holy Spirit, and then go into a hungry and into a broken world with the hope of this resurrection message.
It’s no different for us, today. Through grace and by faith, we – followers of Christ - are filled with the Holy Spirit and commissioned to go into this broken world and share the good news of the Gospel with others.
So no matter what obstacles or circumstances life may throw at you today, remember – The same power that raised Christ from the dead, is living inside of you. Your hope is alive because He is alive.
