"To care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow, and his orphan."

Abraham Lincoln

The AWA utilizes its resources and networks to support medical research, innovative treatment, and awareness of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) that often occurs in modern warfare due to repetitive blunt force trauma and exposure to explosive shock.  We offset expenses of individuals suffering from TBI utilizing innovative technology like magnetic stimulation/neuromodulation therapy for treatment that is not currently covered by the Veterans’ Administration or insurance companies. We also partner with other organizations to produce informational campaigns and emotionally moving documentaries on the prevention, care and treatment of brain damage due to occupational hazards.

The AWA pairs injured SOF Veterans with other Combat Veterans and high performing personnel and organizations that have incurred similar injuries to share experiences, knowledge and wisdom on the road to recovery.  This interpersonal connection and bond formed increases resiliency, detracts associated stigmas, broadens opportunities for treatment and magnifies hope for the future; strength in numbers.
